Origins

The Upper Kittitas County Senior Center (UKCSC) was created in 1998 out of a need for seniors and the community to have a gathering place as well as a place to hold activities. Since its inception, the Center has evolved into the building and the organization that we enjoy today and is now called the UKCSC Centennial Center.

The Center is owned and operated by the Upper Kittitas County Senior Center, and is a 501(c)3 corporation. The Center has expanded its role in the community by adding more services and programs, not only for its members, but for the community as a whole.

Good Meals

UKCSC Centennial Center now furnishes breakfast Monday through Friday from 8-10 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Food is prepared fresh for each meal in our commercial kitchen by our resident chef and kitchen staff. Meals are served in our 50’s era diner where the coffee pot is always on as well as local news on the television. We cater meals for any occasion as well as rent out various parts of the building for everything from meetings to weddings and receptions. See our Calendar page for schedules and menus.

Activities

The UKCSC Centennial Center also provides a lot of activities that are listed throughout this website. We also have our own library for our membership’s use.

Emergency Shelter

Besides being a meeting and eating place for our membership, the Center is also a Kittitas County Emergency Facility and a Red Cross Emergency Shelter as well. In the event of an Upper County emergency, the center has the ability to be transformed into a facility with beds and meals to take care of displaced people. This could be anything from a flooding condition to Snoqualmie Pass being closed for a long period of time, causing the town to become filled up with people who have no other place to go and need to rest and eat.

“Serving Seniors and Community”

As you will see by browsing this website, the Centennial Center not only has a lot to offer our community, it also has a lot to offer people who are just passing through our community. Come and see what all the excitement is about by stopping by the Center for a cup of coffee and look around our facility. Our normal operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The fun starts here at the UKCSC Centennial Center, come be a part of it while you are in the Upper Kittitas County area.
