Senior Center Welcomes New Executive Director Lori Nevin

CLE ELUM, WA – With significant consideration given to the skills and experience needed to guide the Upper Kittitas County Senior Center into the future, the Board of Directors is excited to announce Lori Nevin has been appointed to the position of Executive Director. Lori will succeed Susan Klien who retired earlier this year.

Effective August 7, 2023, Lori will begin with an orientation with the President of the Board Patty Nelson and other Board of Directors. During the coming months, Lori and Patty, and all the Board Members and volunteers will continue to deliver the service that guests have come to expect from the Upper Kittitas County Senior Center (UKCSC) Centennial Center. Lori will also partner with the Board and volunteers tending to readiness for events and other uses, and in hiring a Chef.  The Centennial Center’s current Chef Frank Schuchman plans to support Lori and the new Chef during the transition and then will retire… just from this job after eight years so he can have a day off!

Lori has been a leader in various roles in non-profit organizations since her years in high school and ongoing throughout her professional career. Lori is passionate about supporting her community. Leading roles have included most recently CEO and President, Board Chair and Program Director, and prior roles leading conference and event planning, membership, sponsorships, and communications.

Lori holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and a certification in Project Management. Her corporate roles had her responsible for marketing, customer service, customer relationships, team engagement, project and program strategy, budgets, reporting, process and product improvement initiatives, and supply chain and quality performance. Lori is adept at managing projects and programs while simultaneously and most importantly prioritizing customer relationships and service. She has a deep and wide breadth of experience that is welcome by the Center.

Lori resides in unincorporated Cle Elum with her husband Jeff, and various pets on their small farm. Lori looks forward to meeting the Center guests and partners and being introduced to new ones. ABOUT THE UPPER KITTITAS COUNTY SENIOR CENTER – UKCSC Centennial Center incorporated in 1991, is a 501(c)3 corporation whose mission is to enhance the physical, emotional and economic well-being of seniors’ lives by providing recreational, cultural, educational, fitness and fellowship activities. Nutrition, social and health services are also provided. These activities and services will encourage seniors’ participation in all aspects of community life. Services include senior classes and special interest activities, low cost and freshly made breakfast and lunch, the annual Veteran’s Breakfast, shelter during county emergencies, donation station for the Red Cross Blood Bank, town hall meetings, support group meetings, event facility rentals, and more. Membership is open to all regardless of age.
